Surely this morning would not surprise them, nothing did. Their life, highly structured, climate controlled, curated. Em’mergen was content. They were also Content. Figurehead of a tier-one philanthropic venture, their whole life was crafted, posed, polished and uploaded to social media. Every move Em’mergen made was calculated, controlled, measured for impact, engagement and likeability. So climate controlled that there was a pot simmering that they hadn’t counted on. A tension built, inside them, largely unnoticed, no, not unnoticed, ignored, disregarded, deemed inconsequential. Like an elastic band pulled taut, something, surely, was about to fly loose.
